Youth Outdoor Equity Leadership Fund

GRANTS

We award mini-grants up to $500 to young adults ages 16-30 and our Natural Leaders Network on a monthly basis. Examples of previous grants issued include:

• Joining a nature-based or leadership conference for professional development
• Creating a nature-based event for your local community (community bike rides, plant walks, etc.)
• Community garden planning and installation
• Nature backpacks/activity kits
• Creating safe spaces for folks to connect in nature (healing in the outdoors, zen clubs, etc.)

Young leaders in the U.S., Mexico and Canada are eligible and encouraged to apply. Priority consideration will be given to those who have participated in our youth leadership development trainings, and to young leaders from Black, Indigenous, Latinx and other People of Color; those who identify as LGBTQ+; and those with disabilities.

APPLICATIONS

Applications from organizations will be considered if they are operating as a fiscal agent for a youth-led project. In the spirit of youth leadership, we request organizations not apply for programming or projects that are youth-based but not youth initiated and led. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and reviewed monthly.

By submitting this application, I agree to do the following if I am awarded Youth Outdoor Equity Leadership Funds:

• Complete the proposed project to the best of my ability
• Apply the funds to advance the proposed project or professional development opportunity
• Report on my project or activity via one of three options: submit one meaningful story; send one photo plus metrics similar to those found in the application; or participate in a call with a C&NN team member to share progress
• Funds will not be used to support any political campaign, party or candidacy
